Working in the south West of England is the Cornwall Branch of WMS Recruitment specialising in the supply of Factory Operatives, Field and Pack House Workers and even Fish and Meat processing Operatives.

Accommodation

Workers in Cornwall are housed in 4 person Chalets near the town of Bodmin and pay £58.52 per person per week for the accommodation and £7 per day for transport to and from your place of work.

Each Chalet has 2 separate bedrooms usually 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedded room. It also has its own kitchen area and a living area with separate bathroom. There are electric meters fitted to each chalet which requires approx. £5 per person per week in winter or £3 per person per week in summer. The site has a games room, a laundrette and is surrounded by countryside. There is a shopping run to the local Supermarket available once a week on either a Friday or a Saturday.

Daffodil Picking : January to May

Daffodil Packing: January to May

Daffodil Grading: June to September

Fish processing: All Year (Peak July to October)

Planting, Fleecing And Cropping Vegetables: June to January

Meat Processing and Packing: All Year (Peak August to December)

Some periods, such as Christmas and Mother’s Day, are particularly busy, but unlike other agencies we are happy to keep our temporary workers employed all year round, as long as they are flexible and can move assignments as seasons change.

  • Our work assignments pay a fixed hourly rate or piece rate, but we offer peace of mind that all of our workers are protected and receive a minimum of £8.91 per hour (aged 23 years and over), or £8.36 per hour (aged 22 years and younger).

  • We provide transport to and from assignments via our fleet of fully serviced 9 nine-seater minibuses.

  • All of our workers are paid weekly in arrears on Fridays, via bank payment (BACS).

  • If residents wish to acquire accommodation in Cornwall at any time this will not effect their right to work for WMS Recruitment Limited.

  • We have various clients across Cornwall including vegetable and flower packing; field work; planting; flower and strawberry picking; nursery work in poly-tunnels; glass house; fish and meat processing.

  • Workers are accommodated in 4-person chalets consisting of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. All bedding is included. Please note that all new arrivals at WMS Michaelstow are expected expected to pay one weeks rent (£58.52) and thereafter weekly rent of £58.52 will be deducted direct from each residents wage at source. All workers must bring sufficient funds for bus fare (£7 per day) for the first two working weeks.
